First day of winter and the sun is shining and I can feel my toes. Unlike yesterday. Doing a little gardening and not having anyone else to cater for at lunchtime, thought I’d just eat from the garden.
I’ve got this beetroot crop ready to harvest and have been reading up on ways to use it.
I’m enjoying the garden this autumn and watching it evolve.

Garlic Planting Time
It’s autumn in the southern hemisphere, and not too late to plant your garlic. I still have two bulbs to plant myself. And if you haven’t already bought your garlic there is still time. Choosing which varieties to plant is really important.
I know, I know. My three followers have been wondering where I’ve been. I have been around but I needed a big break from gardening. Still, I’ve been doing bits and bobs. And the garden goes on with you at any rate. Autumn is lovely in the garden. Surprising. Colourful.

Artichokes are a plant I was so excited to get in the garden. I love how they look in the garden and I love eating them. But….. I’m not sure how I feel about preparing and cooking them at home.
