Artichokes are a plant I was so excited to get in the garden. I love how they look in the garden and I love eating them. But….. I’m not sure how I feel about preparing and cooking them at home.

This spring has been totally delightful so far. Cool, mild and raining non-stop. Nothing like last spring. The garden is so happy and I’ve just been sitting back and watching it grow.
Second spring in my vegie patch and another first: a fully formed cabbage.
I was a bit late harvesting my garlic this year.
Today I was somewhat sternly telling my munchkin not to pick the strawberries because they weren’t ready yet. Some time later I noticed munchkin intently ignoring me and bent over in the patch. I investigated further and found a good handful of strawberries like this one:
I have been impatient for this year’s garlic scapes and as it turned out, they arrived on the first day of November.
The broad bean harvest has started in earnest.
